However, if you, for whatever reason, do not want to use Gutenberg you can install a plugin called the <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/classic-editor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Classic Editor<\/a>\u00a0to get the old\u00a0WordPress editor back.\n\n&nbsp;\n<h2 id=\"installation\">Installation<\/h2>\n<div class=\"schema-how-to wp-block-yoast-how-to-block\">\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-total-time\"><span class=\"schema-how-to-duration-time-text\">Time needed:\u00a0<\/span>2 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-description\">You can install the Classic Editor plugin by following these steps<\/p>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-description\"><strong class=\"schema-how-to-step-name\">\u00a01. Log in to your WordPress website.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-step-text\">\u00a0 When you&#8217;re logged in, you will be in your &#8216;Dashboard&#8217;.<\/p>\n&nbsp;\n\n<strong class=\"schema-how-to-step-name\">\u00a02. Click on &#8216;Plugins&#8217;.<\/strong>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-step-text\">\u00a0 On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on &#8216;Plugins&#8217;.<\/p>\n&nbsp;\n\n<strong class=\"schema-how-to-step-name\">\u00a03.Click on &#8216;Add New&#8217;.<\/strong>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-step-text\">\u00a0 The &#8216;Plugins&#8217; settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on &#8216;Add New&#8217;.<\/p>\n&nbsp;\n\n<strong class=\"schema-how-to-step-name\">\u00a0 4.Search for &#8216;Classic editor&#8217;.\n<\/strong>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-step-text\">\u00a0 In the search field (top right) search for &#8216;classic editor&#8217;<\/p>\n&nbsp;\n\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-84 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/westerndeal.com\/westerndeal-new\/client\/westerndealpost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/search_field_classic_editor.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"870\" height=\"152\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<strong class=\"schema-how-to-step-name\">5. Find the Classic Editor plugin and install it<\/strong>\n<p class=\"schema-how-to-step-text\">\u00a0In the search results find the Classic Editor plugin. Click &#8216;Activate Plugin&#8217;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\nAfter installing the plugin you can find the setting under <strong>settings &gt; writing.\u00a0<\/strong>There you see a couple of options as shown on\u00a0 the screenshot below.\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-108 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/westerndeal.com\/westerndeal-new\/client\/westerndealpost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Writing_Settings_%E2%80%B9_5_0_%E2%80%94_WordPress.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2542\" height=\"1916\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n\nThe first option\u00a0<code>Classic Editor<\/code>\u00a0will, as the setting implies, replace everything that&#8217;s Gutenberg with the old WordPress editor. The Gutenberg editor can not be used while this setting is active.\n\nThe second option\u00a0<code>Block Editor<\/code>\u00a0will let you use Gutenberg normally.\n\nThere is also an option to allow users to switch between the two editors. If set to yes some additional options will be added to the post &amp; page overview pages.
